Margaret A. Harrell
Margaret A. Harrell is the author of the four-volume Keep This Quiet! memoir series (Saeculum
University Press 2011–2018). The first volume, My Relationship with Hunter S. Thompson,
Milton Klonsky, and Jan Mensaert, covers her life in Greenwich Village New York City while
working at Random House. There, she was the copy editor, Assistant Editor for Hunter
Thompson’s Hell’s Angels, among other high-profile books. She and Hunter became lifelong
friends. Margaret is a three-time fellow at MacDowell Colony. She has an MA from Columbia
University in contemporary British and American literature and afterwards studied at the C. G.
Jung Institute Zurich. A dual national, she lived many years in Morocco, Switzerland, and
Belgium. Margaret is a highly experienced freelance book editor and a teacher of advanced
meditation courses. Her professional papers, one play, anthologized poetry, and other writings
have appeared in the U.S., Belgium, and Romania. She is also a cloud photographer.
