L.M. Elliott

Hamilton and Peggy! A Revolutionary Friendship is the 9th historical novel by New York Times best-selling author L. M. Elliott. A long-time Washington magazine journalist, covering women’s issues and the arts before turning to fiction, Elliott is best known for the WWII story Under a War-Torn Sky and its two companion novels. Her other works include Da Vinci's Tiger, a biographical fiction about the young poet in Leonardo’s first portrait, housed in the NGA; Give Me Liberty, following a young VA fifer; and Suspect Red, a McCarthyism-era story of two Washington DC teenage boys swept up in the paranoia of the 1950s Red Scare. Several of her works, among other awards, have been chosen as NCSS/CBC Notables by the National Council for Social Studies/Children's Book Council and Honor Books by the Jefferson Cup for Historical Fiction.
