J. M. Tyree is the coauthor of Our Secret Life in the Movies, a short story collection selected by NPR for its annual Best Books feature. His writing on cinema has appeared in The Believer, Lapham's Quarterly, Film Quarterly, and in the BFI Film Classics series of books from the British Film Institute. He has spoken at London's National Film Theatre and The National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. He currently works as the Nonfiction Editor of New England Review and as Distinguished Visiting Professor at VCUarts. His most recent book is Vanishing Streets - Journeys in London.
