Two writers blend fantastical fiction with science fiction, fables, folklore, and cinema. The Science of Lost Futures by Ryan Habermeyer is an award-winning short story collection showcasing a unique sense of humor and an intellectual absurdity. Inspired by urban legends, internet scams, and medical folklore, Habermeyer’s fabulist stories extend beyond science fiction and magical realism to celebrate the bizarre. Vanishing Streets: Journeys in London by J.M. Tyree details the writer’s two-decade-long love affair with Britain’s capital city and the cinema created there. As Tyree wanders through the streets of London, he rediscovers and reimagines the London of the past using movie madness and postcard-like annotations on the magical properties of a great city. He is also the co-author of Our Secret Life in the Movies, a linked short story collection inspired by classic and cult cinema.
