Learn Spanish while you paint with Tracey Kyle, author of A Paintbrush for Paco. This lively picture book explores the importance of seeking out our creative side all while helping us learn a few Spanish words. In this inspirational story, Paco loves daydreaming and drawing, but he struggles to concentrate during class. When his profesor takes him to the art room, Paco is amazed by the colorful paints: pink, rosado; purple, morado; fiery orange, anaranjado; and more! Could art be just what Paco needs? Sprinkled with Spanish words and complete with an author's note and glossary, this book is a great introduction to Spanish with a strong message about the power of art! After the reading, kids will work on learning the colors by doing a color-by-number activity in Spanish. Sponsored by the City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts.
